We're thrilled to share one of our standout commercial-to-residential transformations on Balls Pond Road, London N1, right by Dalston Junction. This once-vibrant corner pub—known for its eye-catching green exterior art—has been respectfully reimagined as a refined corner block, with all timber windows and the ground floor shopfront elements expertly manufactured by our joinery team.
Our client's goal was to breathe new life into this prominent corner plot, creating a clean, contemporary frontage that respected the Georgian-style architecture above. The result is a beautiful harmony of old and new, brought together through precision-made, traditional sash windows and a sympathetically detailed ground floor shopfront look.
From Painted Pub to Period Elegance
The building, previously adorned with mural-style green street art, had huge character but required a
major reworking to meet modern commercial and residential standards. We were brought in to manufacture a
complete joinery package, including:
— All upper-level timber sash windows
— Bespoke shopfront joinery to the ground floor, incorporating glazing frames, mullions, and
entrance door units
Every upper window was built to replicate the traditional Victorian-style single-hung sash window in proportions and sightlines, but with hidden modern enhancements.
